Vegetarianism project is one year old
Solar Meninos de Luz celebrated one year of the Vegetarianism Project in October. On Friday, the 21st, we marked the occasion with a meat-free lunch for 500 people, including students, teachers and employees of the institution. During the event, there was a painting workshop with fine artists Jorge Barata and Fabio Kerr, as well as a showing of the documentary Waste Land, by Vik Muniz.
During the activity in the arts room, Jorge Barata and Fabio Kerr explained Abstract Expressionist painting, the non-technique of using imagination and interpreting what is seen only after the work is finished. At the Meninos de Luz Theater, the students watched the documentary Waste Land and liked it very much.
Solar Meninos de Luz, supported by the pillars of volunteerism, already holds a monthly meat-free lunch. The project is a success and the children love it! We currently have 80% of acceptance. Foods like soy and different vegetables are used to bring healthy and mindful nutrition to babies and young people up to the age of 18.
