Solar supports ‘As aventuras de uma criança DOWNadinha’ book launch in São Paulo
Solar’s event analyst, Alessandra Maltarollo, who has already released her book ‘As aventuras de uma criança DOWNadinha’ (The Adventures of a Child with Down syndrome) in Rio de Janeiro, will now make a new launch in São Paulo, with part of the sales destined to Solar Meninos de Luz.
The event will take place on November 12, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at Ri Happy concept store, in Cidade São Paulo Shopping.
Solar is part of Ri Happy social project, aimed at children’s development through play. Since 2014, Solar Meninos de Luz has a Ri Happy Toys Library, a space full of toys for children to play and enjoy, while stimulating creativity, dreams and learning.
The book, already on sale in bookstores, tells the story of Clarice, DOWNadinha, book protagonist and Alessandra’s daughter. Clarice is a child full of joy, determination, wills, achievements and learning. The experiences and challenges she experienced on a day-to-day basis inspired the author to transform discoveries and learnings of her 6-year-old daughter into a children’s story.
With very colorful and very cheerful drawings, just like Clarice, the book shows to parents, therapists, doctors, friends and friends of friends that children of her age can learn, develop themselves and be happy with or without Down syndrome. “Children need to be seen as children even before disability,” says the author.
Alessandra is a pedagogue with specialization in youth and adult education (UERJ) and post-graduate in psychopedagogy from Cândido Mendes University (RJ).
Illustrator Yolle Torres is a designer graduated from Veiga de Almeida University with an emphasis on illustration and digital animation.
