Solar Meninos de Luz

This period of social distancing has allowed for teachers to reinvent their teaching methods in on-line classes and projects. Many activities that required the physical presence of participants got a “new face” during the pandemic, and one of these activities is theatre!

To offer a different experience in the artistic environment, and exchange stories about different experiences, our Theatre School team invited artists to speak to our students. On one of these talks, we had the presence of the actor and music artists Emilio Dantas (8), and the complete lecture is available on our Youtube channel.

There are many ways to express oneself artistically, and knowing about the importance of creativity in our student’s lives, we dedicate ourselves to the arts through the Solar Meninos de Luz Theatre School. During our talk, Cheila and Emilio spoke about different topics, such as: the importance of support to dedicate oneself to acting, the building of characters and the influence of acting in life outside the stage.

The results of our cultural work can be seen in our students’ own productions and exercises, and also in their lives off-stage. A play is only possible thanks to the effort and hard work of all of the cast, and our Theatre School is only made possible thanks to the dedication of the staff Cheila, Michelle and Jorran, and through the sponsorship of companies such as Estácio, Apex Capital, Águas do Brasil, Atmos and Navi, who keep us on stage through the national Cultural Incentive Law, and the Cultural Incentive Municipal Law (ISS RJ).
