Solar Art Gallery presents ‘Através do Espelho’
Solar Art Gallery promotes, from today, September 15th, ‘Através do Espelho’ (Through the Looking Glass) exhibition. With fourteen artists, curated by Isabel Sanson Portella and Jozias Benedicto and coordinated by Osvaldo Carvalho, the show takes us on a journey from the mirror, going through it, and brings us its reflections and reflections materialized in art.
Mirrors are nothing more than surfaces that reflect a light ray in a defined direction. Thinking about this pragmatic vision, a challenge was proposed to 14 contemporary artists working in Rio de Janeiro city: think through the mirror.
In response to the challenge, the presented works propose a search for the understanding of yourself and the world, through videos, installations, performances, photographs, visual poetry and paintings.
Existing in copper from the fifth millennium BC, evolved into a variety of materials until we reach the contemporary selfish on the screen of a smartphone, mirrors and arts of this exhibition will instigate a search for the real beyond the image.
