Solar Art Gallery opens Tornar-se exhibition
Today, March 8, Solar Art Gallery opened Tornar-se exhibition, in honor to International Women’s Day.
The exhibit features 12 women artists presenting a reflection of the act of becoming woman and how they deal with women’s issues in their art.
For the gallery curator, Osvaldo Carvalho, this show brings subtly, the idea that we still need to talk “about men’s things and women’s things.”. “Truly it is strange to think that many absurd things continue at the same levels; it is not necessary lists them, they are in the news,” tells him.
Katia Jacobson, exhibition participating artist, explains her interpretation of her art. I I have deconstructed Face to Face movie poster, from Ingmar Bergman, making interventions between reality and the true self of the woman who looks in the mirror.
All art displayed at the exhibition are for sale and, in agreement with the gallery curator; 50% of the total collected will go to Solar Meninos de Luz.
To check the work, just visit Solar Art Gallery from Wednesday to Friday: 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.. Admission is free and everyone is invited.
