Pedagogical visit to Petrópolis Imperial city
On July 6th, students from the 5ft grade of Elementary School went to visit Petrópolis Imperial city with the teachers Aline dos Santos and Letícia Catro. The trip took 11 hours.
The objective of this visit was to deepen Brazil History studied in classes. The children walked through the city and saw some antique and European architecture. One of the places they visited was the Imperial Museum, Santos Dumont house Princess Isabel house and Flower Clock.
Children participated of one of the activities of Imperial Museum Educational Program, known as Petrópolis Project, characterized by the interaction with teachers and Museum educators, showing several sports that have been practiced at Petrópolis for a long time and were played at tournaments, clubs, salons, meadows and city squares.
At the end of the project, the children were invited to participate of a regular sport activity practiced at Petrópolis in the XIX century, known as ‘croquet’.
In addition to acquired knowledge, our children also had a picnic at Visconde de Mauá Square (Águia Square). They are looking forward to the next visit, that will be in September to Republic Museum, at Catete.
