Solar Meninos de Luz

On Saturday, August 24th, students from Escolinha de Basquete do Solar attended the 1st Basketball Rio Cup. The tournament took place in the court of the Sports Complex of Rocinha and five teams from different schools of Rio de Janeiro participated.

The show took place three days after the institution’s anniversary, which has been offering for 22 years all day schools from daycare center to secondary school for 400 children living in the communities of Cantagalo and Pavãozinho Pavãozinho in Copacabana. The Fasano Hotel in Ipanema, in partnership with SRCOM, opened its doors for a special performance by singer Adriana Calcanhoto in August 21st.

With songs from the repertoire of the concert Olhos de Ondas, Adriana sang and charmed in favor of Solar, the NGO will receive all funds raised from the event. 

August 8th at 4pm, Meninos da Luz Theatre receives Rio 19th International Cello Encounter. The Festival, which will be in memory of the maestro and Brazilian composer Heitor Villa-Lobos, seeks to integrate the city socially, using the cello as the main character and celebrating the artistic diversity among people.
