Mar Book author talk to the children at Solar Theatre
Today, March 7, Franco-Brazilian photographer and author of Sea book, Emmanuelle Bernard, visited Solar. She spoke to the students of elementary school about what were her inspirations and what’s the history of the photographs taken for the book.
It is a picture book about Rio’s relationship with the sea and all the activities connected to it, like sports, recreation, work, and especially the nature, told the author for children.
Before her lecture, students worked the book with their teachers according to school subject. Leticia, Portuguese Teatcher, worked Jackal poetry cited in the book. Yet Luana, Math Teacher, worked geometric lines in the pictures.
This book closes a trilogy that began with Carioca (2010) and went through Ginga (2013). In this edition, pictures reveal poetic relationship of Rio de Janeiro with the sea. All students who participated of this project won a copy of the book.
