The Rio de Janeiro author began to devote herself entirely to
literature at the end of 1999. She has a degree in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). She has published books for children and young adults and has a specialist degree in this genre, as well as in Portuguese literature and African literature in the Portuguese language, also from UFRJ.

In 2004, she took a Specialization in Children’s and Young Adult’s Literature: Tradition and Renewal and, in 2009, a Specialization in Portuguese and African Literature, both lato sensu postgraduate course. She also does English-Portuguese translation, having obtained a certificate of proficiency in English from Michigan University in 2000 and studied teacher training at language school IBEU.

For years, she has participated in writing workshops (fiction and poetry), at the extinct OLAC (Oficina Literária Afrânio Coutinho), at Estação das Letras, at Vila das Artes and at Casa da Leitura, all in Rio de Janeiro. She is currently part of the executive board of Mulemba magazine, which covers African literature in the Portuguese language (http://setorlitafrica.letras.ufrj.br/mulemba/index.php).

And she is always weaving plans and dreams.

“Reading and writing give me a face, give me meaning and joy.” (Edna Bueno)
