Immune IPTU and Rio Town Hall restitution
Finally, after two years of administrative proceedings, Rio de Janeiro Town Hall recognized Solar Meninos de Luz constitutional tax immunity, interrupting IPTU collection two properties in the the Institution name. Not only did it comply with the norm, but also refunded the amounts already paid in R$35 thousand, which saved Solar month.
The refund is due to Bichara Advogados office work, Solar partner for 4 years, with a wonderful team of lawyers. The group also seeks the restitution of amounts unduly paid from other properties, including those that are leased or loaned for educational development and social assistance activities.
Bichara Advogados office defends Solar in other causes, such as judicial recognition of constitutional tax immunity at the federal level. They will start, this month, another process, requesting exemption of ICMS on gas and energy bills.
Immunities reduce costs and help the Institution in the dreamed sustainability.
