Solar Meninos de Luz

Students of Early Childhood Education and Elementary School I are working on Afro-Brazilian history and culture in classroom.

They are studying topics such as African countries, dialects, the continent contribution to humanity development, discovery of Brazil and the arrival of black people in the country, slavery abolition, African songs, respect for religiosity and social differences.

To stimulate studies, on October 27th, Solar made a hairstyles and turbans contest at Meninos de Luz Theater. The activity main objective is to raise students’ self-esteem and show that, despite their differences, each one has its beauty.

As an award, the 3 winning students from each class were presented with toys.
