Food and physical activity are themes worked in computer class
In 2016 second half, children of Early Childhood Education and Elementary School I are working Health and Sports Practices topic. To stimulate the subject, computer teacher Aline Santos implemented a project among students of 4th and 5th year grades in order to make our children aware of quality in life importance.
In this project, they are learning how to prevent degenerative metabolic diseases appearance, how to benefit mental competence, how to increase immune responsiveness among other functions related to eating.
They are also learning about regularizing anxiety, reducing stress and improving mind quality through physical activities practice.
The project is separated into two stages. The first, which took place on November 7, was an online conference between students and nutritionist Nara Araújo. They had the opportunity to hear about healthy eating and ask questions like, ‘When children have diabetes, what do they need to eat to get well?’, ‘Why do children eat to grow?’, ‘Why do you have to eat 3 in 3 hours?’ and ‘How important is physical activity together to healthy eating?’.
The second stage will be a meeting with physical education teacher Bruno Saviano for a chat, orientation and some physical activities.
After these two steps, students will develop an information booklet and a blog with information about worked themes to raise awareness in their school and community.
