Fios de Sol Exhibition
From June 7 on, Solar Art Gallery promotes Fios de Sol (Sunshine) exhibition. With curatorship of Ana Tereza Lopes, Cláudia Lyrio, Marisa Florido and Talita Tunala and coordination of Osvaldo Carvalho, 38 students become artists and follow a line of art already projected at Luz Balão exhibition, where artists intertwined in the form of a network, unifying works through themes previously suggested, influenced by the poem Tecendo a manhã (Weaving the morning), by João Cabral de Melo Neto.
Through three different workshops, students of Solar Integral School were encouraged to give themselves to play and exercise the freedom of creation according to the four themes proposed to them: rainbow, gravity, self-portrait and aurora.
Among the work materials brought by artists Denise Calasans and Mercedes Lachmann, Chang Chi Chai, Roberta Paiva and Cáudia Lyrio, are Play-doh modeling clay, self-portraits and spinning lanterns used in China’s popular festivals. The produced arts, to be exhibited in Fios de Sol, were inspired by Leonardo da Vinci, Nelson Leirner, Tarsila do Amaral and Jeff Koons.
These artistic experiences turned into colorful sculptures, spinning lanterns and self-portraits with interfeferences of stickers, cutouts and paint.
The students’ exposition is a practice developed with the purpose of bringing children closer to the country current artistic production. Each of them has autonomy and a central role in the creation and reproduction of their ideas.
