Fine artist Adriana Varejão visits Solar
On the 28th of October, we welcomed fine artist Adriana Varejão, her mother, Dona Elza and her daughter Catarina, who donated a box of toys to the Solar children.
Adriana saw all of Solar, especially the Christina Oiticica Fine Arts and Crafts Room, where she was delighted with the space and the art books spread out on the tables. It reminded her of her childhood. Some students were making artworks for the Art Gallery exhibition, with the theme “The Cloud and the Dune, a story of Love and Friendship”, based on Christina Oiticica’s book.
Adriana will donate one of her artworks to the 2nd Solar Auction, coordinated by Pedro Buarque de Hollanda. The revenue from this event will go towards the maintenance of Solar Meninos de Luz.
The auction will be held on the 7th of December at restaurant Fasano Al Mare, at the Rio de Janeiro Fasano Hotel, with pieces by Adriana Varejão, Cildo Meirelles, Antonio Dias and Miguel Rio Branco. The works will be shown at the São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro stock exchanges.
