Favela em Dança Festival at Solar Theater
It happened today, March 17, at Solar Theater, the first day of 2016 Favela Festival Dance. The event, which also takes place on 19 and 20 in another address, combines workshops, battles, dances, shows, guided tour and exhibition.
Today, the event held DançaLab – Conversation workshop on dance and Territory and included renowned names of dance and culture scene, such as:
- Michel Cordeiro, Dance Bachelor of artistic director, a founder of Cadan (Dance Academic Center) and Network RJ Urban Dances,
- Lucio Pedra, Arts educator, producer, choreographer and creator of IQFenix,
- Leila Tupinamba, Rio Parada Funk producer,
- Dughettu, rapper and Eixo Rio president,
- BboyPelezinho Brazil Tas, Red Bull BC One All Stars.
For the organizers, it is important to provide the space for exchange of ideas and dissemination of stories of struggle and success. Experiences exchange values mutual growth.
It was also reported the result of 2016 battles. The winning group was Núcleo 7.0. They were competing with Melaninas, and won R$5.000 (five thousand reais).
In the coming days, the event will take place in the Campos Alberto Street, 12 – Ipanema.
