Encounters and Re-encounters
The Solar is a place of many encounters and re-encounters, and these happenings always leave a positive mark in our story. In 2004 we inaugurated our Reading Room, which was implanted by FURNAS in our school. Up to this day, this space serves as a refuge for our students, where they can explore their creativity.
16 years later, we continue to stimulate love for reading and books in our children, and this time, FURNAS comes to support us in a different way, by sharing a little bit of their story with us. After moving their offices to another building, they found over 6000 books in their offices and decided that these books, “pieces” of their lives, should be shared with other people that could enjoy them.
After this idea came to be, it didn’t take long until our common wish to do good to others met again, and with this, our library received 500 new titles. When our children go back to school, they will find our shelves filled with new stories and hope.
