A Very Emotional Teacher’s Day
October 15th is a very special day for Solar Meninos de Luz because it is Teacher's Day. The date was celebrated in Meninos de Luz Theatre with over 400 people, including children, teenagers and educators, from nursery to 8th grade. What a joy!
Tatiana Neves, Professor and Coordinator of Early Childhood Education, represented 170 infants and children when she spoke about the importance of teaching during a very well elaborated and emotional presentation , which is part of her personality.
Professor Rosemarie Ramalho, Pedagogical Director, moved everybody showing her passion for teaching: "I always dreamed of being a teacher, since I was a child and my dolls were my students. Later, my classmates were my students. I believe that many people have played that make-believe game and I still see children playing it nowadays. I always celebrate Teacher's Day with great joy and excitement because I am sure that we dream and drive our students to dream too. I talk a lot about dreams because I believe that everything is possible, you just have to believe, wish, and fight for it never giving up in the face of obstacles that are bound to come. A teacher is part of everyone’s life and we contribute to the lives of all professionals! Solar educators work with emotion, with love and reason. We work with dreams, but mostly with the 'strength' to make it come true," Rose pointed out.
Teachers Yolanda and Isabella Maltaroli, President and Director of the Institution, were also present in the theater. They talked about the magic of being a teacher and it was impossible to hold back the tears. William Maltaroli, who is responsible for administrative and financial direction, could not attend, but he left the message: "Teachers are a divine material who are in a special mission on earth. To them the honors and praise for the arduous and important task they execute. Teachers are public assets of a nation and should be treated that way, with all deference and love. "
