8th year students already teach youngers
On March 2, 8th year students gathered in groups to explain the meaning of explanatory bet and vocative to 6th year students, in a playful way, through dialogues.
The themes, which have been worked in classroom with the Portuguese teacher, have been explained through examples.
According to the students, the explanatory bet, for example, can explain who is in fact the subject of the sentence. Observe the phrase: ‘Isabella, Solar’s pedagogical director, visited the students in their classrooms’.
Note that the passage “solar director” is explaining who is the subject “Isabella”. This passage is the point of the sentence.
The explanatory bet can also be used to list and specify an earlier term: ‘The student needs to bring his school supplies: book, notebook, pen, pencil and eraser’.
The vocative is used to address to those who listen: ‘Children, it is necessary to be silent’ or ‘Friends, let’s go to the movies?’. In these cases, ‘children’ and ‘friends’ are the vocative of the sentences.
After all the groups presented themselves with different explanatory examples, the 6th year students answered some questions to show that they also had learned as well.
