Tribute to Solar volunteers
Continuing the tribute that Solar will do to their dear and indispensable volunteers, in March, our honored friend is Marina Trindade. She ministers a Fashion Workshop. Marina agreed to answer some questions:
Full name?
My name is Marina Trindade Silva de Carvalho.
How did you get to know Solar?
Through a friend who works at Solar.
How long have you volunteered at Solar?
I’ve been working as a volunteer for 2 years.
In what areas do you work?
I teach the Fashion Workshop.
How do you feel about working at Solar?
I feel very fulfilled and much more useful as a person to be passing all my knowledge and showing to the children that we can always do more.
What do you think about Solar’s work?
I find a job that is very beautiful, that gives possibilities and also provides the change in those children lives.
Do you think Solar influences people’s lives? In what way?
Yes, very much! Solar shows these children that our reality can be changed in some way and that only access to education, instruction and culture can transform a person’s life.
What is Solar characteristic that you most appreciate?
The affection, the care and the attention that they have with the children.
Is there a nice story between you and the students?
Yes. When we did our 1st tour to the MAM museum to see a photographs exhibition where they did a super cool job with the guides there, I saw how much they got involved in the work and how it caused a certain ecstasy in them. That was very gratifying for me.
Luciana, Solar Meninos de Luz thank you immensely for the time and love dedicated to Solar and the students!
