Tribute to Solar volunteers
Continuing the tribute that Solar will do to their dear and indispensable volunteers, in Octubre, our honored friend is Cynthia. She works at Nursery for 11 years.
Cynthia agreed to answer some questions:
Full name?
Cynthia Heloisa Galina.
How did you get to know Solar?
I met Solar through Rio Solidario, where I attended lectures and did a training.
How long have you volunteered at Solar?
I work as a volunteer for 11 years in Nursery.
In what areas do you work?
I began my work in Nursery II, where I stayed for some time, then I also worked in Nursery III for other years and now, for the first time, I am with the little ones of Nursery I.
How do you feel about working at Solar?
It was a gift to have the opportunity to meet and be a little bit with the children here at Solar. It is very gratifying to see them grow, discovering the world, developing their potential. I feel renewed seeing them blossom with joy for life.
What do you think about Solar’s work?
Solar is a blessing and a light in the formation of so many children. There, they find affection, security, education and food. In addition to the tranquility of the parents to be able to work and leave them covered.
Do you think Solar influences people’s lives? In what way?
I think Solar greatly influences the life of this community that is served by it. Mainly because it gives the opportunity for these children and young people to have a better future, offering a solid education based on moral, ethical and religious principles.
What is Solar characteristic that you most appreciate?
The characteristic of Solar that I most appreciate is the concern to educate with respect, solidarity and dignity, its students for life.
Is there a nice story between you and the young mothers?
I have had many beautiful stories over the years at Solar. I often carried candys, biscuits, and some treats for little ones. But one occasion I purposely failed to take to see their reaction. A boy asked when he saw me, because there was nothing in my hands. I explained that we can not always win something and that what is important is people company. He looked at me and said, “No problem, aunt, I just want to be close to you.” It filled my heart with joy.
I have a great affection for all these children and I hope to pass on to them, through my hugs and kisses, a little affection, hope and joy. May God bless the entire Solar team and be always enlightening Iolanda and her collaborators.
Cynthia, Solar Meninos de Luz thank you immensely for the love and dedication you give to children!
