Adult Literacy students take classes at Solar Art Gallery
On August 1st, students from Adult Literacy class held a class inside Solar Art Gallery, with a guided tour of the exhibit ‘Diante do Desconhecido: o Outro’ (Against the Unknown: the Other).
In class, students exercised writing of their names in the presence book, reading of the exhibition poster, interpreting what they observed in the works and, transposing it into everyday life, expressed opinions and feelings of what it means The unknown and the other in the life of each one.
Following the exhibition proposal, the conversation advanced to reflect on the distances we keep in our relationships with fear of the unknown, of the other. Art is an excellent possibility of provoking these ponderations in a playful way.
Now, in classroom, the exhibition theme will generate knowledge of orality, reading, interpretation and writing, according to the course pedagogical proposal.
For those who are interested in participating, there are still vacancies. Classes take place every Tuesday and Thursday, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at Solar. To register, just come to Solar’s reception at business hours with identity and adress proof.
The project is called BB Educar – Youth and Adults Literacy and is the result of a partnership between Solar Meninos de Luz and Banco do Brasil Foundation.
