Photography in the Pedagogical Project
On May 3, History Teacher Marcella Albaine innovated in her class for students of 6th and 7th years of Elementary School II. She brought the teacher Monique Ferreira dos Santos, a master in History from UFF, as a special guest, to talk about the theme: Photography in the Pedagogical Project.
In the class, a brief history of photography was presented since its discovery in the middle of 19th century, by several men, in different places of the world. They also discussed about the major technological and social advances to new uses and ways of thinking photography production in the world today.
Students thought with the teachers about the possibilities of using photography in the pedagogical projects, that will be worked on by them in the 2nd two-month period of this school year. Photography can be one of the research tools, the research object or just assist in the presentation of project results.
For example, different photography projects were shown, such as ‘People’s Images’ project, ‘Favela in focus’ collective and some projects by photographers from Maré School of Photographers.
