Oficina de Inventices at Solar Art Gallery
Completing activities of 2016, Solar Arts Gallery promotes, from December 15, Oficina de Inventices exhibition, by the artist Lin Lima.
Unfolding in answer to his own doubts, he proposes a show based on playful design premises. Known for his pieces made with hand-pointed pencils and wall-designs made from half-moons, questions related to his formal investigations, the artist presents variations, sometimes objectively or not so much, of graphite use, either in those pieces that are characteristic to him, or in his projects ideas presentation that becomes this solo exposure.
Lin Lima holds a bachelor’s degree in Painting from Fine Arts School of UFRJ and his works basically talk with drawing universe and its main object: the pencil. Organic forms arise from improvisation and repetition without any sketch to achieve results. In the drawings, one stroke at a time so that, within repetition, emerges evolution. What could be the same, becomes different. With the pencil, shapes gain space by transforming a mere supporting actor into a main actor, in works that dialogue with both repetition, explored in drawings, and in constructive art movements.
