1st Literacy Unit launch at Pre-school II
Today, September 14th, Solar Pre-School II Class began a great challenge: the 1st Literacy Unit launch. Using the psycholinguistic method, the “primer” is constructed in classroom by students themselves.
The contents should be contextualized, so that the children are more involved in the process of acquiring writing. Thus, within Health and Environment program, our students were led to know a little more about the fruits and vegetables that make up our food. The teachers created a dramatization, in which a significant sentence was highlighted for them: Lara coloca a batata na panela (Lara puts the potato in the pan).
After the play and some jokes, students drew pictures about the phrase. Once the phrase is launched, the next step is to “play” with keywords to use them in different contexts (phrases). Then, they go to the auditory and visual analysis of each “little piece” (syllable) that compose them for the formation of new words and phrases. From the whole to the parts, from the parts to the whole.
Learning to read is also fun for our little ones.
