Solar receives Literary author Andrea Taubman
Last Friday, October 25th, Meninos de Luz Library received author Andrea Taubman, who attended Literary Solar with elementary school students! The project encourages reading through storytelling and some fun and educational activities. AEILIJ (Writers and Illustrators Association of Children's and Teenage Literature) invited associated Writers and Illustrators to meet Solar Meninos de Luz children. The partnership has 4 years already.
Andrea told the students the story of her book Rosa Formosa, about a flower-girl who lived in a garden together with huge plants such as Monkey Grass, Adam Rib, Snake Plant and Mother in law. With a simple and informal language, the story caught everyone's attention, captivating young Professor Leticia Rocha and Librarian Jordana Urquiza, with her spontaneity and sympathy.
The writer, who is a member of AEILIJ since 2010, guaranteed she would visit again and said: "They were extraordinary, participative and concentrated. They showed interest the whole time we were together. It was lovely to tell the story of Rosa Formosa and take them to reflect about this text proposes. I was very impressed with their vocabulary and the group perception, and also their notable familiarity with literary texts. "
