Literary Solar with Zé Zuca
Zé Zuca is a teacher, art educator, psychodramatist, radio announcer and director of ZZ productions. He has been singing since he was born. He began doing theater very early on. He later found himself being an educator, a writer and a radio announcer. He realized that children are the best crop in the world. He put all his jobs together and that is how he lives, the way people see him: a multimedia man.
Zé Zuca has worked for 29 years for and with a child audience and has taught music in several schools. He writes texts, children’s books, composes and does musical direction for adult and children’s professional theater, having been twice nominated for the Mambembe prize. His production Coração de Gigante (giant’s heart), which he wrote and directed, won a Shell prize for stage production.
With his program Radioteca, on Radio MEC, he was one of three finalists at the New York International Radio Programs Festival, out of 1547 programs from 18 countries.
He released the albums: Jacaré Espaçonave do Céu (alligator sky spacecraft – independent), O que eu vejo da janela (what I see from my window – independent), Zé Zuca e a Rádio Maluca (Zé Zuca and Crazy Radio – independent), O Melhor de Zé Zuca (the best of Zé Zuca – Angels Records and Sony), Roda de Cantigas (song circle – Selo Rádio MEC, 2007) and Álbum de Figurinhas (sticker album – Selo Rádio MEC, in 2008) – all icons of music for Brazil’s children, with the participation of Bia Bedran, Palavra Cantada and Hélio Ziskind, among others.
He currently produces, writes scripts, writes soundtracks and presents the program Rádio Maluca, which lasts one hour, live, in the Rádio Nacional auditorium from 11am to 12pm on Saturdays. Children and their families fill the auditorium for the program which has reached, in the city of Rio de Janeiro, the fourth place in ratings for its time slot.
Zé Zuca is requested for concerts, courses, workshops, lectures and congresses in Rio and other cities.
