Student walk in Flamengo Park
Last Tuesday, the 4th of October, our 26 second-year primary school students went for a wonderful walk through Flamengo Park, accompanied by teachers and the pedagogic director, with the purpose of looking at and understanding plants, the subject they were studying in Science class.
Everyone took snacks and their favorite toys in their backpacks, to play and eat during breaks. Transport was by bus, and the driver was applauded!
Once we arrived, the gang took many photos and everyone was amazed at how huge and beautiful the landscape was. “We ran, we sang, we shouted, we flew kites, we skated, we roller-skated and we played in the sand”, said the students. “By the way, rolling in the sand is incredible… What about skating in the sand? That’s right! We invented it!”said director Rosemarie Ramalho.
The treats were arranged on a lovely red towel. A beautiful prayer thanking God for everything was spoken, and then the picnic took place!
Before the walk, the science classes were enhanced with planting, with help from teacher Valéria and inspector Gilson. Many seeds and seedlings, sent by the students’ guardians, were planted in flower planters and in the garden of house 138. Still studying plants, the kids and teachers made a delicious carrot cake!
