Every Drop Counts
Throughout our story, we have always counted with extra hands that have supported us when we were most in need, and on July 10th, we invited these friends to help us in another necessary cause: a blood drive!
Just as every affectionate gesture makes a difference in a good deed, every drop of blood can help to save lives. Knowing this, Hemorio joined forces with the Rede Postinho de Saúde and the Movimento Chega de Descaso, to replenish the blood banks that had been low due to the pandemic.
While visiting some communities in Rio, including the Cantagalo favela, Hemorio made countless blood collections, following every safety and health protocol. We always teach our students about the importance of doing good to others, and we encouraged them to practice a good deed through the project “Meninos Solidários“.
In this project, the children have to complete some complementary hours before their graduation, and the Solar encouraged them to participate in the blood drive in exchange for those hours. This was, on the 10th, it was possible for our students to come to the headquarters of Viva Rio and stretch their arms for such an amazing cause. It was even more gratifying to learn that 78 bags were collected from this action, proving that every drop really counts!
