30 Solar students attend the Rio Open 2017
Futuro Bom institution made it possible for 30 Solar students to go to Rio Open 2017, the biggest Tennis tournament in South America, which happens at the Jockey Club Brasileiro between February 20 and 26. The transport was offered by Shopping Leblon.
Students of 6th, 7th and 8th grade classes will attend the 1st Round, ATP (Tennis Professionals Association) on Monday, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The same institution, in partnership with Copacabana Palace Hotel and with Pirelli sponsorship, invited Solar to participate of Copacabana Little Princess Project, in which 12 students from 6th and 7th grades will have Tennis lessons on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., at Copacabana Palace sports court. All students will receive uniforms, rackets and food.
Maria Esther Bueno, former Brazilian tennis player, will be the project godmother. The former athlete was the winner of 19 Grand Slam tournaments and considered the best tennis player in the world by the International Tennis Hall of Fame.
Students may participate in state and national competitions. Participation in competitions will depend on the development of each one in the project, which aims to give the opportunity to students that respond above-average to performance training on and off the court.
At the age of 18, each student will receive a participation certificate and a reference letter, to facilitate their entry into the labor market, or referral to clubs, hotels and gyms for those who want and possess necessary qualities to work with Tennis.
Project inauguration will be held in March.
